Fight/Flight is an attempt to embody the instinctual response we have facing something. Neither juxtaposed response is better than the other. How do we choose? When consistent fleeing causes buildup, when rebellion causes destruction. This sphere created on stage showcases the journey of choice. The title of this work is “kinFOLK”. The meaning behind this has to do with the context of the work including the ancestral connection with each other from human to human of a minority community. Some of these connections don’t have to be spoken to exist, they are unexplainably consistent between the relationships we have in minority communities. This work reflects this powerful sensation in these communities and the pockets of joy that are made even in our fragile societal state. kinFOLK has been performed at: BFA Senior Choreography Concert 2025 (Photos By Gaberial Sharp) SILO Dance Festival 2026 (Photos Christopher Duggan)
"Sonder" is a piece inspired by the environments around the world. This piece takes a introspective look on being alone, and that shift in mentality when put into groups of society. This understanding that you are not the only person in society with a past, desires, passions, and morals. We work daily to keep ourselves alive and as we get caught up into our routines we often forget to acknowledge the interpersonal relationships we have with others. The task that was experimented with in this process, was how can we present interpersonal relationships on stage? While also portraying our own individuality. Sonder has been performed at: Bridge For Dance 2024 Koresh Arts Showcase 2024 McKoy Dance Project Collective Voices 2024
"Stay Awhile" "Stay Awhile" dives into our love lives. Showing your love to someone in which you want a relationship with but the feeling between the people are constantly in flux. Having the lack of communication, and questioning the core essentials to a relationship like trust & loyalty. Despite all of the challenges that are created in the relationship, you are anxiously attached the person. Regardless of the stresses they may cause, you want them, even if it's not good for you. In this case you focus on the present and enjoy the time you have with the person but just hope that they'd "Stay Awhile". It can often feel like it's private and you're alone in this, but there are thousands, navigating through love.
